Footshop is the most popular e-shop for sneakers and streetwear fashion. And not only in our country, but also in Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and other Central and Eastern European countries. Peter Hajduček founded Footshop in 2011 because of his passion for sneakers. He never wanted Footshop to be just another shoe and clothing e-shop. Footshop is of course a very successful business, but even as it grows it does not neglect the community it came from and continues to support and build. The common factor is self-fulfilment. Through a passion for fashion, music, art, streetwear and of course a passion for sneakers. Footshop is successful and recognizable even for big global brands. This is evidenced by the fact that here you can find limited editions that you can't buy anywhere else in the area, because global brands only distribute them to partner premium stores. And today Footshop is definitely that.

We’ve hit rock bottom before, but our culture, uniqueness, and passion for sneakers have always pulled us through.
At the start of 2022, the global e-commerce landscape faced massive turbulence. While most companies – including ours – were geared up for continued explosive growth, the opposite happened, and numbers began to drop. On top of that, we had a backlog of unresolved issues, which all came to a head at once, creating an atmosphere you could cut with a knife. But that’s all in the past now

We founded Footshop out of a passion for sneakers. From the start, we never aimed to be just an ordinary online store. Sneakers are a culture we live and breathe, and we’re dedicated to spreading that culture to others. Footshop is a community of people who love fashion, art, and self-expression. We’re not just sellers of goods. We’ve worked our way into the ranks of premium brands, gaining access to exclusive labels and limited-edition sneakers you won’t find anywhere else in the Czech Republic. We’re proud members of adidas Consortium and have access to exclusive lines from brands like Vans, Nike, Yeezy, and more. We collaborate with renowned global brands and local artists, whom we actively support. We’re also developing our own collections, and in the future, we dream of expanding our in-house product line and bringing even more Footshop to the people. We play this game the best way we know how

Why do we think we’ll make it? Because we’ve got the drive. We’ve got a passionate community of fans who give us invaluable feedback. We’ve got ideas. And we’ve got a team of creative people who can take even the wildest concepts and make them real.

We are one of the few in our market that can sell limited stuff, and it's a very difficult journey to be able to sell it. Because it's not a problem to sell some products, it's a problem to buy them.

Life at Footshop feels like a rollercoaster ride. It’s fast-paced and full of adrenaline – definitely not for everyone. Don’t expect a cushy job here; there’s nowhere to hide. The people who thrive with us love Footshop for its energy, dynamism, and constant change (at least when it’s not too much, which does happen sometimes). Even strong personalities can find it overwhelming at times. But in exchange, you’ll never deal with boredom or monotony. Every day is different, every day you learn something new. We tackle challenges, experiment, create, and come up with fresh ideas.
We wouldn’t enjoy it if Footshop stayed where it was 10 years ago. Sure, back then, we all fit around one table and partied our way from one event to the next, but we’re here to build a great business. And so far, we’re doing better and better.

Footshop isn't about titles – it's about friend and enthusiasts
You’ll find friends here. There are over 200 of us now, so naturally, we can’t all know each other personally. But there are still plenty of people to grab a beer or catch a concert with after work. We don’t want colleagues who won’t even say hi in the hallway. We aim to foster an open, respectful, and friendly environment where friendships thrive. We’re here to support each other and help across departments. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or what you believe – at Footshop, you’re one of us. And we’re determined to keep that energy alive.
What's great is that a lot of people are not just colleagues, but friends who socialize in their free time. I notice that people are able to separate work from private life. If we have problems at work, it's not a problem to go out together afterwards and not deal with it. And those are good things.
Of course, we have management – we’re not a kindergarten but a proper business with a billion-crown turnover. Still, our structure is as flat as possible. Around Peter Hajduček, we have team leads for areas like logistics, IT, and marketing, but our leadership style is hands-on. Managers lead by example, work alongside their teams, and stay involved in daily operations. We don’t have executive offices. Petr and the others sit right among us, and you can approach anyone with ideas, issues, or just for a chat. Footshop isn’t for managers chasing titles but for those who want to build great teams and collaborate on something bigger.
I think it's great that there's a founder who can sense situations when something is on fire. And in that moment, he dives into things specifically and in detail, where it's currently needed.

It's a pretty young team here, for a lot of people it's their first job and it's great that Footshop offers a place for young people who want to get better at something and in other companies they would be shipwrecked because they don't have any experience.
You can come up with any improvement, any suggestion for change and if it makes sense to us, it will be implemented very quickly and that possibility of self-realization is what I build on in my departments. The other thing is that as long as you're working and you're getting results, you have a lot of freedom here.

Let’s be honest, 1 billion in revenue and 200 people across three countries, this is no small business. Yet inside Footshop, you’ll still find start-up spirit, minimal bureaucracy, and plenty of creativity – the essence of what makes Footshop, Footshop. We’ve grown to a size where processes are essential and value having good ones in place, as well as colleagues who’ve stepped up as leaders to manage it all. While our hearts still beat for creative chaos, we’ve embraced the need for greater responsibility. Even the biggest punks among us get that now.

Our marketing campaigns are legendary – from Hotel Kyjev to collaborations with brands like Life is Porno. We often go all out on creative campaigns with our suppliers or during events. Creativity is what defines us and makes us unique.
Sometimes the brands we work with will suggest that we can work with an agency, but we enjoy the creative part so much that we try to keep it in-house and for me, that's the best part of the whole marketing thing.

One of the reasons we love Footshop so much is that behind all the sneakers and fashion lies a deeper purpose and impact than what meets the eye. We support young artists, creating spaces where they can express themselves. We’re also exploring ways to be more sustainable, aiming to educate and inspire younger generations. For instance, in Prague’s Holešovice, we painted a wall with air-purifying paint as a statement for cleaner living.
We stand firmly against any form of discrimination and aren’t afraid to voice our opinions publicly and stand by them. Respect for everything and everyone is deeply rooted in our values – it’s not just a marketing slogan. A certain degree of liberal thinking and a genuine drive to do more for our community are essential here.

You won't find an atmosphere like ours in any other warehouse. We're running at full speed, enjoying every moment, and have big plans ahead
What kind of people are we looking for in our warehouse? You’ve got to love music, especially rap and hip hop, because that’s blasting at full volume all shift long – sometimes from different directions. You need a good sense of humor and a team-player mindset, because here, we’re all in it together. During Black Friday, when the shipping team is overwhelmed, it doesn’t matter if office tasks are done – we step up and help wherever needed. It doesn’t matter if you’re a guy or a girl; we welcome any sneakerhead who knows how to hustle and is always up for a laugh. Our warehouse is full of people rocking rare collectibles and living sneaker and street culture. What we really want is for you to enjoy it – if you do, you’ll fit right in and stay for the long haul. People don’t leave Footshop’s warehouse, because you won’t find a crew like this anywhere else.
What was my first impression? Me and Pepa came to the warehouse, you open the door and there's music playing from the speakers, guys were riding skateboards and there was such a good atmosphere.
We're hiring young people. People who are into street culture, skate and fashion and they don't mind that there's rap music playing for eight hours straight.

BE HUMBLE
You can still see Peti's close entry into the company here. He's not a hired 40-year-old CEO with experience, but a guy who likes to put on 20-year-old rap music, party with us, and you can feel the spirit with which he founded it.
What's keeping me here? The first point is the people, everybody does things 100% and nobody tries to screw it up. And secondly, the company is still growing and I've gained a lot of experience here. I can see across the company and it's the progress that keeps me here.

For developers, we offer exciting challenges... and sneakers :)
The scale we’ve achieved over the past 10 years – millions of orders from around the world – and the speed at which e-commerce evolves offer incredible challenges for developers. We have an amazing development team and a ton of ambitious plans, whether it’s about internal systems or automating the customer experience. We’re implementing modern tools, developing custom solutions for internal organization, and planning to automate our warehouse. Today, the IT department is a stable and highly motivated crew. One thing’s for sure – you won’t be bored here.
What I like most is that I can realise myself. We don't have a mega technical or business brief that you have to do exactly this as a robot. We'll get it together as a team and do it our way. And we always try to design it so that someone else can work with it in the future. And it's kind of an unwritten ownership.
