The Accounting Manager will be performing budgeting, accounting functions and taking ownership of general ledgers for multiple entities and countries. They will be in regular communication with Global Supply Relations as well as assisting in the growth of key accounts by working on projects and special tasks. Other responsibilities of this position involve ensuring high quality and fulfilment of tasks and supporting and collaborating effectively with our global InnerWorkings employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF YOUR ROLE

  • Will participate and be responsible for monthly, quarterly and year-end closing operations for multiple entities in multiple countries.

  • Take ownership of general ledgers of multiple entities in multiple countries.
  • Support audit and SOX related activities for entities managed.
  • Lead a team of 8+ accounting personnel.
  • Review and quality control overseeing work of junior staff members.
  • Coordinate with Global Supplier Relations team and assist in oversight local P2P supplier relations associates.
  • Assist in growth of the SSC and taking on more accounting responsibilities from other counties in the EMEA region.
  • Ensures high quality and fulfillment of tasks within given deadlines.
  • Ensures efficient use of resources by coaching, monitoring and assigning the work to team members.
  • Actively contribute to process improvements to develop and the efficiency and control environment of the finance function.
  • Participates in project work and special tasks.
  • Hires & motivates employees, establishes their development plans and manages their performance through regular communication and formal performance appraisal process.
  • Solves ad-hoc daily business issues together with employees and others.
  • Helps to transfer the knowledge to the expanding SSC in Prague from other locations.
  • Develop strong working relationships and collaborating effectively with other InnerWorkings employees in many different locations including, amongst others, the US, the UK, France, and Spain.

WHAT ARE WE EXPECTING FROM YOU?

Professional

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance or Economics or lower education in same field with minimally 5 years job experience in similar fields.
  • Experience with monthly close activities and financial statement generation.
  • Experience in managing a small/medium-sized team of accountants / bookkeepers.
  • Experience in SSC.
  • Experience of VAT accounting and returns a plus.
  • Proven analytical skills and detail orientation.
  • Proven interpersonal skills for work internally across departments as well as with clients.
  • Strong decision making skills.
