Ticketportal + GoOut (PLG Czech Republic)

Ticketportal + GoOut (PLG Czech Republic)

PLG Czech Republic is a new entity on the market, but behind this brand lies years of expertise from the three largest ticketing players in the Czech Republic and Slovakia: Ticketportal, Ticketstream and GoOut. The merger, which took place in 2025 under the leadership of the Estonian PLG group and Lukáš Jandač from GoOut, resulted in a company that understands the ticketing market across the full spectrum of live culture — from tickets for small theatre performances, through rock festivals, to season passes for top-flight football matches. With the strong European PLG brand, a new story has begun that extends beyond the borders of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, one that can excite anyone who wants to work on a great product with an impact on millions of people.

Jobs

We bring unique experiences that people will remember.

We also know, however, that it's not just about the experience itself — the concert, the theatre, the football match. People also remember how easy it was to buy a ticket or pass through the turnstile. By merging the three largest ticketing players in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, we have created a team that stands at the origin of almost all of the experiences. And our goal is to do it damn well.

Number one with global ambition

Across all of PLG, you'll now find excellent teams with years of experience who are capable of building truly great products with reach across all of Europe. We are building a ticketing system that will stand up in every country where PLG operates — and uniquely, a large part of the system is being built by us here. We influence the way people in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Poland and other countries we're planning to expand into will buy tickets for culture and sport. For us, who until recently were local players, the opportunity to be part of something unique has opened up. By merging three strong brands on the local market, we are concentrating enormous know-how, from selling small local cultural events, through large concerts and festivals, to sporting events of European significance.

We're no longer a small company. We're a European group

What naturally ceases to exist in this story is the small family company culture that each of these businesses started with — where everyone knew each other personally, knew each other's stories and often worked together for many years.

Today's connected company has over 170 people in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and is at the same time a European entity with influence across the entire continent. We no longer build products solely for the Czech market. We have to think about how to build products that will also work in Poland, Romania and Estonia.

This might seem like the end of an era. But it's also undeniably the beginning of something new and exciting. We can already see that the individual tasks, briefs and challenges we tackle are far more complex and varied. It costs more nerves, for sure but if you can handle it, it can also be a lot of fun.

Product „lovers“

What do all three teams that came together under the PLG brand have in common? Definitely this: they genuinely love their product.

The people you'll meet here really care about what they do, what they work on, and who they do it for. The product in our case is not created in offices or in presentations — it's created at festivals, concerts, clubs or football stadiums. We work very hands-on. We love watching how people use our products and improving them.

That's what connects us all, what gives meaning to all of us. And on top of that, we have the opportunity to inspire each other across countries — which makes the whole thing even more compelling.

When I was deciding whether to stay after the acquisition or not, what made the difference was the drive here. The vision that Lukáš and the Estonians have, and the fact that the challenges are big — if that drive holds up, it'll be great.

Challenge accepted

We have enormous challenges ahead of us. And there are many of them. Merging local products into one coherent vision is an ambitious goal. Sometimes it feels like a rollercoaster because of that, but we are definitely on a great trajectory and we genuinely have a chance to build something exceptional.

No bullshit

We try to keep politics out of it. Everyone here wants an environment where anyone can come with their opinion, say it openly and out loud, and not fear any behind-the-scenes consequences. We don't cultivate Czech kitchen-corner culture. It exists to some degree everywhere, of course, but we strive to communicate transparently and openly — and to stand behind our opinions.

We don't shoot people for making mistakes, but alongside that, it's worth knowing that a mistake can ruin the experience of hundreds of people at a concert. So when we say "No bullshit", it also means a great deal of personal accountability — standing behind what we say, both internally and externally.

Change is a friend

People who want everything done, who need precise instructions and clearly defined procedures, and who above all don't want their working world to shift under their feet — they won't survive here.

When PLG merged the three largest ticketing companies, change was written into its DNA from the very start as a constant. For everyone who now makes up the Czech PLG team, everything changed completely in 2025. Teams, brand, established processes, offices, owners... everything is different, and those who are here simply have to accept that. We do everything we can to make it as easy as possible. We communicate openly, we have a company all-hands and breakfasts every month, we connect teams, align strategy, work closely with the Estonian headquarters  and we try to create the best possible environment for everyone who travels this road with us. But it wouldn't be fair to say that we primarily offer comfort and peace of mind.

Diverse & great people

Musicians, athletes, DJs, theatre fans, developers who go to festivals. People who use the very product they work on, and who care about how it works. The average age spans a wide range from recent graduates to people with 20 years of industry experience. We've managed to bring multiple generations under one roof. We've managed to bring together people who differ in their hobbies, passions and interests. We've managed to unite football lovers and culture geeks.

But above all, we've managed to unite people who enjoy coming to work and and—bad days aside—are usually in a great mood. It is truly remarkable that whoever you meet here will tell you: "the people here are great."

Everyone wants to do this. We're at the start of something new and everyone is curious where it'll take us

Open minds

Right now we're looking for people who look at things from different perspectives, accept different possibilities and can weigh pros and cons. What matters most, though, is that they bring momentum and energy to their solutions. At PLG we learn from each other, respect different opinions and are not dogmatists. We look at things primarily through the eyes of our customers. We understand what the company needs at this specific moment in order to deliver an even better experience to our customers.

You'll find people here who are eager to bring such solutions, but alongside them also people who are still learning, because nobody ever asked that of them before. This leads to passionate discussions and occasionally amusing situations — but we get better at it every single day.

I think the environment here is friendly and open. You meet people between 18 and 55, and of course everyone's sense of openness is different. But what's great about it is that you have a lot of personalities around you and you're not locked in your own bubble.

Jakub Rusňák, Head of Customer Service

You'll meet people here who are smart, independent and proactive — and I really value that. People are willing to listen to feedback, come up with ideas and speak up when they see something we could do better.

What internal values do we want to promote?

Values are not just words — they are our everyday actions.

Integrity in Every Moment

We act with honesty and high ethical standards — that's how we build trust, step by step. Integrity doesn't show itself in big decisions, but in small moments of every working day: when we admit a mistake, keep a promise, or share an uncomfortable truth.

Excellence Without Compromise

We care about the quality and impact of our work — it's not enough for us that something is simply done. High standards are the result of personal accountability. We don't let ego take the wheel, and we don't cultivate a culture of pressure. Learning and feedback are a natural part of excellence for us, not the exception.

Sustainability & Responsibility

We think long-term — about people, teams, processes and the impact of our decisions. We strive for fairness, inclusion and equal opportunity. Responsibility also means looking after each other, respecting personal boundaries and supporting well-being.

Efficiency and Focus

We prioritise clarity over complexity, direct communication over politics. We trust people to manage their own work and we don't accept micromanagement. Meetings, processes and decisions must have a clear purpose.

Innovation for Impact

Curiosity gives fuel to our efforts. We don't dismiss creative solutions and bold thinking. We support people who are willing to challenge the status quo — and we believe growth comes from curiosity, not from fear of mistakes.

Cheerfulness

Work can be fun. We welcome playfulness, humour and lightness. We enjoy spending time together outside the office too — and we believe the best ideas sometimes don't emerge in the meeting room, but over a shared lunch.

Meaningful Connections

We build on genuine relationships. We approach customers, partners and colleagues with humanity — we're after long-term partnership, not a one-off transaction. What we can achieve together matters more than what any of us can pull off alone.

How do you preserve friendship in leadership? My colleague and I added a game at the end of our 1-on-1s — 'Truth or Dare' — a mix of honest feedback and absurd challenges (like having a cow as your Slack profile picture for a whole week). It helped us normalise feedback and protect our friendship. And secondly, appreciation works for us — expressing gratitude or a compliment to someone every day costs nothing, but it gives energy and removes doubt.

Byrokracie? Trošičku

Nobody who reads about this story — the merger of three great Czech ticketing companies under one European roof — is naive enough to think that everything is sunshine and that it doesn't bring a whole host of challenges on a human and communication level. Of course it does, that's part of the package.

So we can't claim there's zero bureaucracy, overly long decision-making chains, or conversely hasty decisions. Of course there are, because without some of that, it doesn't work at scale. It's already too big to stay punk forever. It's already too big to stay as close-knit and family-like as it was a few years ago. There need to be some rules, processes and shared guardrails. But what we can genuinely guarantee? For now, there's just the right amount of it.

The traditional old-school Ticketportal merged with the underground GoOut and is trying to find common ground. A few years ago we'd have said that sounds like the start of a joke. Bitter rivals in one office, under one brand, collaborating — which brings some funny moments... and then suddenly you realise it's not about laughing at each other, but about creating the best possible product together, and that it's actually real.
